Product Details
Trixie offers several variations of the double-sided brush, primarily differing by handle material and brush head size, but all share the core dual-functionality.
- Design and Materials: The brushes come with either a strong wooden handle or a plastic handle with a non-slip rubber grip. The brush head is typically an oval shape.
- Two Sides:
- Pin Side: Features metal or wire pins, sometimes with rounded tips, designed to gently remove tangles, mats, and loose undercoat hair.
- Bristle Side: Features soft nylon or natural bristles used for smoothing the top coat, removing dirt, and distributing natural skin oils to enhance shine.
- Benefits: Regular use helps reduce shedding, prevents skin infections, and stimulates blood circulation in the skin, contributing to a healthy and glossy coat.
How to Use
The Trixie double-sided brush is a straightforward tool for effective at-home grooming.
- Detangling (Pin Side): Start with the pin side to gently work through any knots or tangles. According to general grooming advice, it is best to start a few inches from the bottom of the hair and move upward to the roots using short, slow strokes to avoid hair damage and pain for the pet.
- Smoothing (Bristle Side): Once the coat is free of tangles, switch to the bristle side. Brush along the top coat to remove fine, loose hairs, smooth the fur, and give it a natural shine.
- Frequency: Brushing your pet once a week is recommended, though more frequent brushing may be needed for long-haired breeds to prevent matting.
- Maintenance: The brush should be cleaned regularly after each use to remove accumulated hair and dirt, ensuring hygienic grooming.
